United find themselves in good company, with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea all having their sportswear made by the company ranked 61st in the World's Most Valuable Brands list published by Forbes, with an estimated worth of 22.76 billion dollars.

Blades Managing Director, Mal Brannigan, commented: "The partnership with adidas, one of the most iconic sporting brands in the world, is indicative of the strong progress we are making as a Club. Details of the look and style of the home and away kits will be released very shortly."

Nick Craggs of adidas added: "We are delighted to agree this partnership with Sheffield United. We believe the Club are at the beginning of an exciting new period under manager Nigel Clough and we are looking forward to many successful seasons together."

Below are images doing the rounds claiming to be the Blades' new kit for the 2014/2015 campaign. Whether any of them prove to be genuine remains to be seen, however.

There has also been speculation on who will be the main shirt sponsor next season, with the deals with VSportsGames.com and Topsring seemingly only for a year, with the deals with the two evidently hurried at the end of last year's pre-season.

It could be safe to assume MBuzz, a Saudi telecoms group who adorned the shirts worn by the players at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi-Final, could stand a good chance of becoming permanent sponsors for the forthcoming season.

One thing we do know for sure if adidas' contract with the Blades runs up to the 2017/2018 campaign.
