Traffic Warning For Football Fans

In a bizarre twist of fate all three Steel City based clubs (Sheffield United, Rotherham United and Sheffield Wednesday) have all been drawn at home in the first round of the Carling Cup; causing a hexodes of traffic in and around Sheffield before and after the game.

Whilst there will be local public transport (trains, buses and trams) available to take supporters to and from Bramall Lane, Hillsborough and Don valley it is expected that there will be a high volume of traffic - possibly causing delays.

The Carling Cup isn't famous for drawing its massive crowds but we would expect somewhere in the region of 15-20,000 fans from the six clubs involved in the Steel City this Tuesday night.

We would just like to advise fans from all clubs to take care and allow plenty of travelling time before and after the match.
