Having been handed bye's in rounds one and two, the Blades enter in Round Three and will host Burton Albion at Bramall Lane

At present no date has been set but the tie must take place before 16th December.

In last season's competition, United reached Round Five having lost 1-0 at Preston. They had previously been victorious against Crewe (2-1) at Bramall Lane and at Halifax Town (5-1) in the previous two rounds.
