The 32 year old has yet to make a first team appearance since his departure from Bramall Lane last summer and has spent unsuccessful trials at Derby County, Stoke City and Walsall.
He has been allocated the number 12 shirt and could make his debut tomorrow at Glanford Park when they travel to Scunthorpe United.
