United in the hat for Carling Cup 1st Round

As always, the Carling Cup 1st Round is split into Northern and Southern Sections. All Premier League teams enter the Cup at a later stage, whilst Burnley and Hull City have both been given byes into the next round.

The draw, which will be made Wednesday morning and released at around 9:30AM, gives United the chance to face the likes of Chesterfield in their brand new home, or even a chilly Tuesday night tie up at Morecambe.

The Blades are a seeded team, therefore they can't draw another 14 sides. The 15 sides they can be paired with are:

For the past two seasons, the Blades have drawn Port Vale at Bramall Lane. The first tie saw United comprehensively defeat the Valiants 3:1 but, a year later, Vale produced the shock of the round with a 1:2 triumph at S2.
