Veteran Aims For Full Fitness
Updated Wednesday, 2nd May 2012
Former Sheffield Wednesday and Stoke City striker Richard Cresswell is trying to improve his fitness ahead of the Blades final League One show-down at Exeter City this weekend.
Being also without Ched Evans the Blades lost control of second spot and must win at Exeter and pray that rivals Sheffield Wednesday fail to be Wycombe at Hillsborough.
"I'll be speaking with the physios and seeing what we can do," Cresswell told sufc.co.uk. "I'm ready to be involved and contribute in any way I can. I'm not one to give up and no one else here is either."
Cresswell, who has suffered nose, wrist and shoulder injuries in recent weeks, added: "I'm ready to do whatever it takes. I needed some jabs on Friday and then another just before the game, but I'll do whatever I can for the team.
"We're disappointed [to drop out of the automatic promotion places], of course we are, but we've got to lift ourselves because you never know what can happen. Strange things can occur on the final day."
