The Sheffield United supporter made his dream come true. To take the Blades to the top flight. And that's exactly what he did, but it was spoiled by the unfortunate relegation on the final day.

Cup runs in the League and FA Cup's were some of the most memorable times in his managerial career at Bramall Lane when United were the comeback kings and beat teams such as Liverpool.

The current Crystal Palace boss told The Times: "My wife won't let me extend my contract. You get mellower as you get older. There are only two or three managers, two or three journalists and two or three chairmen I've got a problem with, and that's not a bad record considering I've been in the game since I was 18.

"Every time I see Scudamore's face on the television I feel sick. Lawyers want me to look into suing West Ham because nobody lost out more than me."

All the best for the future Neil.
