Clint Mathis: Played In 2002 World Cup With USA.
The Blades need a 20 goal a season striker and Neil Warnock hasn't denied that a striker is on the way, but will only say that will not be a crowed pleaser.

"I know what we have and I know what we need," Warnock told the club's official website.

"The player I'm after won't be everyone's favourite but he can help me in a few positions and I'm looking to sign him permanently."

So far suggestions from Blades fans could mean Andy Booth is on his way to Bramall Lane, the former Sheffield Wednesday forward has long been an admirer of Warnock, in fact it was NW who sold Booth to the Owls when in charge of Huddersfield Town.

Andy Booth: Targeted By Blades Before.
Other names such as Darren Huckerby (Manchester City), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth) and former Blades winger Paul Devlin (Watford) are in the hat but Blades-Mad would like to point out one player, Clint Mathis.

The former New York/ New Jersey Metrostars striker is currently without a club after being released by the MLS club and after failing a trial with Glasgow Rangers means that Mathis could be looking for a spell in Europe. Providing wages isn't a issue then Clint Mathis could be that Blades 20 goal a season striker.
