Weymouth 3-5 Sheffield United

United made a few changes after losing to Matlock Town 4-3, Leigh Bromby came in at centre-back while Jagielka moved to a more familiar right-back position. Harley made his first appearance since signing full-time at right-midfield whilst trailist Paul Thirlwell accompanied Tonge in the middle.

The Blades flashed off their new Holland Orange style away kit, although the lack of names and numbers on back set confusion with the local crowed which pulled in 1,402.

If the Blades where to take control of the game they really needed to do it early, though neither keeper was troubled for the first quarter of the game until Hayles fouled keeper Emberson when Harley crossed.

In the 20th minute the visitors took the lead which Harley played a part in it, the former Chelsea defender volloyed in a wicked cross only for ANDY GRAY to fire past Emberson.

Gray then went for more and tried once more moments later and tested the keeper from edge of the box but his hard drive was well held.

Over half an hour had gone before the home side had something to chant about but when Phillips was on the charge Kenny calmly came out to clear up.

In the 43rd minute Weymouth got back in the game, WILKINSON's fantastic curling effort beat Paddy at his near post. A minute later it became 2-1 when Bromby brought down Wilkinson where ERIBENNE finished with ease.

HALF-TIME: WEYMOUTH 2-1 SHEFFIELD UNITED

Neither side made any changes at Half-Time but the hosts looked more likely the team to win the game as the United faithful lost ambition and found life difficult when reaching the final third of the pitch.

On 52nd minute disaster struck for the home side, Michael Tonge set BARRY HAYLES free who beat an offside trap to burst past the defence only to round Emberson and slide into an empty net.

Hayles did it once more two minutes later, Bunce headed a poor headed back pass which HAYLES once more took advantage of to go 3-2 up.

On the hour, more promising news came through that Ashley Ward and Jack Lester returned from injury whilst Jonathan Forte, Simon Francis and Alan Quinn also made appearances. Though the loudest cheer came when Captain Morgan's strong challenge on Eirbenne meant he had to be stretchered off.

On 65th minute the hosts leveled things off, PHILLIPS danced through a sea of Orange the smash the ball past Kenny. The substitution did pay off as United regained the lead a minute later when new signing ALAN QUINN found the far corner after Lester's good work.

Former Bradford man Simon Francis provided a very poor back pass which put Kenny in trouble, Phillips latched on and only Kenny's feet could stop the goal bound shot.

But, with eight minutes left the visitors ended the game, Jonathan Forte was brought down in the box, and ASHLEY WARD finished with style from 12 yards out.

Phillips tried once more to give his team some hope but equally Ward and Nick Montgomery had chances to stretch the Blades lead near the end.
