It is no secret that Sheffield United are in search of a new centre-half - adding to the Blades injury concerns is the likely departure of Matthew Kilgallon who is at present refusing to renwew his contract.

Over at S6 they are facing a simular problem with Richard Wood unhappy at life and Hillsborough and has made it quite clear of his intentions to leave the club.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell as refused to rule the Sheffield born defender as a possible targets, though Coventry City, Nott's County, Queens Park Rangers, Ipswich Town and Barnsley also thought to be chasing his signature.
