The 32-year-old Middlesborough player, who joins United in time for Saturday's game at Stoke, will be looking to impress with a possible further two-month extension to his loan.
Neil Warnock, a known admirer of Wright's who tried to sign him from Villa in the summer, will be looking to bolster his defensive cover with Robert Page struggling to recover from injury and Colin Cryan today joining fellow academy product Ashley Sestanovich on a month's to Scarborough, managed by fomer Blades youth team manager Russell Slade.

In other news, Stoke City's Carl Asaba is struggling for fitness ahead of Saturday's match with the Blades at the Britannia Stadium. A lower back problem is causing the trouble for the popular ex-Blades striker.
