Armstrong to become a Royal

A 750,000 bid has been said to have been put on the table by the Berkshire club. Armstrong was hit with injuries galore a few seasons back which nearly ended his career. But backing from Neil Warnock encouraging him to keep going has kept alive Chris's foot balling life.

Armstrong featured in United's victory over Port Vale last week and was one of the players that Kevin Blackwell indicated were 'playing for their futures'.

It is also rumoured that the funds received from the Armstrong deal could be put towards encouraging 'The Lord' Michael Brown back to the Lane. Sources report that the Blades are set to put in a £3m bid for the Wigan midfielder.

Meanwhile on the subject of transfers, the summer transfer window has been extended a day due to the original closing date landing on a Sunday. The transfer window now shuts for business on Monday 1st September.
