Blades Duo Linkled With Clarets

Nick Montgomery celebrates his goal against Burnley this season.
It comes as no surprise to hear the name of Nick Montgomery mentioned, his has been a name on the Burnley lips since before the end of the 2003/04 season.

The 23 year-old midfielder played in 33 games for Sheffield United last season, including the two against the Clarets, and scored one goal, that coming in the 4-0 win against his home town team Leeds United.

He made his Sheffield United debut in October 2000 in a 4-2 defeat at Norwich City and has now played in over 150 games for the Blades.

If that's no surprise then being linked with Rob ert Kozluk certainly is. There's been no previous suggestion of it and given that he plays mostly at right back it is probably not so likely given that Burnley already have Michael Duff, Frank Sinclair and Wayne Thomas who can play in that position.

Kozzie has been at Bramall Lane for over six years after becoming a Steve Bruce signing from Derby in March 1999. He was part of a swap deal that saw Jonathan Hunt make the move with him and Vassilis Borbokis join Derby.

Bruce took him to Huddersfield Town on loan in the following season but a permanent deal broke down and he's since played approaching 200 games for the Bramall Lane club.

Robert Kozluk

During last season he spent a month with Preston but made just two appearances before returning to Bramall Lane and winning a place back in the side.

Montgomery and Kozluk are two of seven players who have been made available by manager Neil Warnock. Whether either or both of them sign for the Clarets remains to be seen.
