Shatskikh, 27 a former West Brom target in July 2005 currently plays for the Ukrainian giants Dynamo Kiev along side former Tottenham and West Ham striker Sergi Rebrov.

In 2005 he was voted as one of the best three players in Asia. Born on 30 August 1978 the striker was top scorer in Ukraine for Kiev during the 1999-00 season, notching 20 goals. The same feat was met again in 2002-03 campaign when he netted 22 goals.

Although failing to qualify for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, due to the over powering Japan and South Korea getting there ahead of them Shatskikh, in March 2006 scored the only goal for his country in the 1-0 home with over Korea and again in the 3-2 win over Kuwait.

Uzbekistan qualified for a play-off place but despite drawing 0-0 and then 1-1 (where Shatskikh scored the leveller) they went out to Bahrain who subsequently lost to Trinidad & Tobago.

Blades-Mad aren't sure as to hope sure this rumour is true but does make interesting reading as to how Neil warnock is thinking in the transfer market.
