Sheffield United are on the verge of signing Ghana striker John Cofie on loan from Manchester United.

Cofie, 19 is considered highly rated by Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson and it is believed that the Old Trafford club wish to send Cofie out on loan to gain first-team experience.

The striker has spent time with their feeder club; Royal Antwerp and impressed during his time with the Belgium club. Sky Sports believe that Sheffield United are the front runner of several clubs chasing his signature and that a loan move to Bramall Lane is imminent as United look to chase automatic promotion back into the Championship.
