Bye Bye Warnock

Massiah: Would be stupid to leave.
Despite the 3-1 Cup victory over Sky Blues rivals Aston Villa yesterday the former Bury boss who has just picked up the Manager of the Month award for December 2004 is under pressure from a small knit community of Blades fans and is finding away out of Bramall Lane.

However it is believed that 12 other persons have shown an interest in the Highfield Road job which was last taken up by Peter Reid before his resignation last Thursday. One of those managers interested is current caretaker boss Adrian Heath whom is no stranger to Bramall Lane!

Adrian Heath said: "I said we’d get today out of the way and we’ve got an excellent result. I do think I’m capable of doing a job and I know if we’d lost today I’d probably have had no chance of getting it. Maybe now a few people will give me a thought and if I get it I’d be delighted."

"I’ll go and see the Chairman now and I think the Board had a meeting this morning so he might have more to tell me. I’ll just keep doing what I’ve always done which is prepare the players as best as I can."

As for the rumour Blades-Mad can not see this one being true. Neil Warnock is due to retire at the end of next season and if it was true we know Heath and Suffo would be the first two out!
