First of all, prolific Premier League front-man for the Blades in 2006/2007, Rob Hulse, is a Middlesbrough target according to Sky Sports, but Derby County are reluctant to let the striker depart.

A strike partnership of Rob Hulse and Danny Webber could soon become reality if Boro's pursuit of Webber is finalised. This could see the reunion fire on all cylinders for one of United's promotion rivals. Danny is currently without a club after the Blades opted not to renew his contract over the summer.

Meanwhile, Jon Stead has been informed that he is not part of Ipswich Town's future plans when Roy Keane placed him on the transfer list. Doncaster Rovers and Crystal Palace are both rumoured to be keen on the 26-year-old. The latter side are of course managed by Neil Warnock, who brought in Jon just in time for the top-flight campaign.
