Horsfield, 32 was signed by Sheffield United last January from West Bromwich Albion initially on loan before completing a £1,200,000 move. However the deal fell sour when he and manager Neil Warnock had a disagreement.
The row has now ended though Horsfield is now considered to be surplus to requirements at Bramall Lane following the arrivals of Christian Nade and Rob Hulse.
A number of Championship clubs are interested in the Barnsley born forward including; Barnsley, Coventry City and Cardiff City. To date Baggies boss Bryan Robson has captured John Hartson from Celtic but also sees Horsfield as the man to fire the Baggies back to the Premiership following their relegation last season.
