Rumours circulated the internet this week that should the Premier League club fall foul in the Europa League qualifiers that Sheffield United will look to make a loan move for defender Harry Maguire, who was only sold to the Tigers this summer in a £2,500,000 transfer.
Last night Hull was eliminated from the competition after gaining entry as FA Cup Runners-Up. They won the match 2-1 on the night against Belgian side KSC Lokeren but a 1-0 defeat away from home in the first leg allowed the opposition to go through via the away goals rule. Robert Brady netted both Tigers goals whilst Yannick Sagbo was dismissed as the Humberside club looked to make headways in their first time in a Euopean competition.
With United's defence in a little need of strengthening it may be that Blades boss Nigel Clough can bring back the defender he so richly attempted to keep - To date Maguire has yet to make his Hull City debut.
