JJ Set For City Switch
Updated Saturday, 16th June 2012
Sheffield United are on the verge of signing former Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield Wednesday forward Jermaine Johnson on a free transfer.
The rumour comes from posters from across the City on their Owls-Mad Message Board, though as to whether there is truth in the story will remain to be seen but a move for Johnson could signal the departure of Lee Williamson who is currently being chased by South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.
For the past two seasons Johnson has struggled against his fitness and last season made just 14 starts for the Blue and White club and scored on 4 occasions - a move into League One could reconstruct his career.
The last time any players moved across the City was Alan Quinn and Leigh Bromby in July 2004 who - under Neil Warnock moved to Bramall Lane after being released from the Owls.
