Jermaine JohnsonJohnson, 31 is believed to be out of contract at the Hillsborough club and is on the verge of rejecting a new deal with Dave Jones despite the Owls winning promotion to the Championship ahead of Sheffield United. However it is believed that Blades boss Danny Wilson has stepped in and offered the 48 capped Jamaican international a two year deal.

The rumour comes from posters from across the City on their Owls-Mad Message Board, though as to whether there is truth in the story will remain to be seen but a move for Johnson could signal the departure of Lee Williamson who is currently being chased by South Yorkshire rivals Barnsley.

For the past two seasons Johnson has struggled against his fitness and last season made just 14 starts for the Blue and White club and scored on 4 occasions - a move into League One could reconstruct his career.

The last time any players moved across the City was Alan Quinn and Leigh Bromby in July 2004 who - under Neil Warnock moved to Bramall Lane after being released from the Owls.
