Patience has ran out with most of the fans with Kevin Blackwell. This is the same man who took us to the play-off final last season - many forget this unfortunately! But, despite Blackwell still at the helm at Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane, the News of the World is indicating that former Newcastle striker and manager Alan Shearer is a possibility if Blackwell was to be sacked.

Shearer failed to keep Newcastle up in the Premier League last season when he was handed the job at St James' Park for the final eight games.

A 'source close to Alan' said in the paper: "He's desperate to get back in (into management). He waited for Newcastle and it didn't happen.

"Now he wants another club. He has the hunger and he is just waiting for the right club with the right ambition."
