Speed aged 39-years-old has been offering his helping hand in the dugout with Kevin Blackwell at both home and away games. After Steve Bruce departed Wigan  for Sunderland, Spaniard Roberto Martinez is likely to be Bruce's successor at Athletic which would mean a vacant job at Swansea City. Welshman Gary Speed whom has now passed his coaching badges could be in line for the hot-seat at the Liberty Stadium, but has said he'll be at Bramall Lane next season.

He said: "
I wouldn't want to talk about anything else while Roberto Martinez is still the manager. Kevin Blackwell has brought me into the fold and I've learnt a lot off him as a coach and it's been a great experience for me learning the ropes.

"So I'm there next season as a coach."

Meanwhile current Blades number two Sam Ellis has also been linked with a move away from the club. Premier League boys Stoke City have supposedly shown their interest in the 62-year-old according to The Mirror.
