Villa paid just 250k to take Delaney from Cardiff City in March 1999, since then he has played 170 (+ 18 as sub) and scored only twice, one of those in a 4-0 victory over Everton last December.

The Welsh international, who has made 33 appearances for his Country played in the 0-0 draw today at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur.

He could be joined at the Lane by team mate Eric Djemba-Djemba, the Cameroon international (11 caps) who is currently out of the Country playing in the African Cup of Nations. He joined Manchester United from French club Nantes in July 2003 and left Old Trafford for 1.35M in January 2005.

So far Djemba-Djemba has failed to nail down a first team place having played just ten games for the club, his last appearance came on 31 October 2005 when he came on as a substitute in a 3-1 defeat at Manchester City.

Unfortunately for United, the rumour is that if these two join the Blades then it will mean Michael Tonge will join Villa as part of the deal.
