Blades v Dirty L**ds United Preview

Last updated : 18 March 2011 By @blades_mad1889

The Blades last game did not go according to plan as they where on the wrong end of a 3-0 hammering against Nottingham Forest at City Ground as a Jack Lester double and a striker from Marlon Harewood gave Reds the points.

As far as we know there is no new injuries from the game v Forest and the good news is that strikers Wayne Allison and Paul Peschisolido are back and will probably feature in the team.

Sadly, Fulham have told Neil Warnock that Jon Harley can not play in the game as this would cup tie him if he latter plays for Cottagers. After his knock a week ago at Derby Michael Boulding will not feature either.

Blades likely line-up: Paddy Kenny, Robert Kozluk, Shaun Murphy, Robert Page, Steve Yates, Peter Ndlovu, Stuart McCall (ex-L**ds), Michael Brown, Michael Tonge, Wayne Allison, Carl Asaba.

Because of their involvement in UEFA Cup on Thursday night against

Israel side Hapoel Tel Aviv there game with Everton was moved to Sunday where L**ds became the latest victim for Toffee's highly rated youngster Wayne Rooney as his single goal was enough to win the game.

Our Opponents have quite a list of experience players out injured, Robbie Fowler, Seph Johnson, Jason Wilcox and Dominic Matteo will all miss the trip to Bramall Lane.

England International Nick Barmby and French man Oliver Dacourt are both fit but it is doubtful that these two will start on Wednesday night.

It is doubtful that Terry Venables will play a full Premier League side, but if he does it could look like this: Paul Robinson, Lee Mills, Jonathan Woodgate, Lucas Radabe, Teddy Lucic, Eric Bakke, Nick Barmby, Lee Bowyer, Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka, Alan Smith.

I would like to thank Jon Abbott, editor of www.leedsfans.org.uk for supplying me with information about the L**ds United team.

Both teams have met in the League Cup before, the last time was on 10 October 1978 in exactly same round (three) and oddly enough at Bramall Lane. The result was 4-1 to the away side, Cliff Calvert scored for Blades but it ex-Blade Tony Currie scored one while Eddie Gray scored two. F. Gray put away L**ds fourth.

Prediction: The Blades are the underdogs in this game and obviously L**ds will be the clear favorites, but it is at Bramall Lane and I would expect a 95% attendances for this encounter.

The game will be difficult for United but I think that they can get a draw out of it if the tactics are right.
