Colchester United vs. Sheffield United - Sheffield United - Blades-Mad

Colchester United vs. Sheffield United

Last updated : 12 March 2012 By @blades_mad1889

United got back to winning ways at the weekend after a poor run which saw them win just once in four games - hopefully this was just a slight blip in their quest for promotion but a 2-0 win at Brentford with two goals from Ched Evans (6 & 51 minutes) kept the Blades in second spot.

This fixture against Colchester had initially being postponed due to 'bad whether' and a maximum three points in this 'game in hand' match would go someway to promotion.

Blades boss Danny Wilson now has a selection headache ahead of tonight's game; Lescinel Jean-Francois (knee), Kevin McDonald (hamstring) and Chris Morgan (knee) are all absent through injury. However he was boosted by the return of midfielder Nick Montgomery (groin) who returned from injury in the game at Brentford.

Colchester United recorded a score-less draw at Wycombe Wanderers which has forged a mini run which sees them go unbeaten in the last five match with two wins against Preston North End (3-0) and Charlton Athletic (2-0).

U's manager John Ward has no new injuries or suspensions to contend with, though Martin Rowalnds received a knock at Adams Park in the first half and had to be replaced; he will be deemed doubtful for Tuesday night. They are however boosted by the return of Ashley Vincent and Jordan Sanderson after recovering from injury - both have featured in reserve team fixtures.

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole could make an appearance against his former club; he joined the Blades in March 2009 on loan from Watford; making his debut in a 2-1 away win at Coventry City and scored his only goal in a 2-1 win over Barnsley at Bramall Lane. He played his last game against Swansea City (1-0) before the start of the play-offs and returned to Vicarage Road having made 5 (+4) appearances and scored just once.
