Colchester United vs. Sheffield United

The Blades already have four points from two matches after firstly beating Shrewsbury Town 1-0 all be it unconvincingly from David McAllister's early strike and last Tuesday night drew 1-1 at the Ricoh Arena, though fell behind when Coventry scored but made amends minutes from time through Nick Blackman.

In last seasons encounters the pair drew 1-1 at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on 13 March; Will Hoskins netting the Blades vital goal whilst earlier in the season (on 17 September) at Bramall Lane the home side won 3-0 - Ched Evans, Chris Porter and Stephen Quinn getting on the scoresheet.

Blades boss Danny Wilson is expected to be without midfielder Nick Montgomery and striker Richard Cresswell - neither players are injured or suspended but is believed that they aren't being selected due to financial reasons and is also believed that the pair have been transfer listed by the club.

Colchester United come into this fixture on back of a 2-2 draw with Portsmouth - it was the financially wriggled Pompey that took the lead through Luke Rodgers (30 minutes) before on the stroke of half-time the U's levelled via defender Michael Rose. The home side looked to have had the win in the bag through Magnus Okuonghae (82) but the visitors made a point there's with a  late goal from Jordan Obita (86).

The U's are likely to be without new signing Gavin Massey (from Watford) who is deemed unfit by manager John Ward, meanwhile skipper Kem Izzet (back) is set to miss out but could rerturn against league leaders Tranmere Rovers next week.

Midfielder John-Joe O'Toole could make an appearance against his former club; he joined the Blades in March 2009 on loan from Watford; making his debut in a 2-1 away win at Coventry City and scored his only goal in a 2-1 win over Barnsley at Bramall Lane. He played his last game against Swansea City (1-0) before the start of the play-offs and returned to Vicarage Road having made 5 (+4) appearances and scored just once.
