bladesvcoventrycityIt doesn't seem long since this fixture between two former Premier League clubs were both battling it out in the Championship, both have been in relegation battles in the last two seasons and both of which have failed to maintain there place. In 2010-11 the pair drew 0-0 at the Ricoh Arena  on 15th January in a game largely dominated by the home side whilst earlier in the season, on 30th October - Gary McSheffrey's goal for City was the difference between the two sides.

Blades boss Danny Wilson could be without on-loan Manchester United striker John Cofie who is nursing a hip injury which he sustained in a pre-season clash at Morcambe.

Coventry City disposed of Dagenham & Redbridge in a 1-0 victory before they faced Yeovil Town last Saturday on the opening day of the League One season. City boss Andy Thorn has invested in his squad this summer and despite signing free transfers has been able to add six new players to his squad; John Fleck (Glasgow Rangers), Stephen Elliott (Hearts), Kevin Kilbane (Hull City), Adam Barton (Preston North End), William Edjenguele (Panetolkos) and Kevin Malaga (Nice) have all signed. Reece Brown (Manchester United) and Callum Bell (Derby County) have also signed on loan.

In return six players have left the club for pastures new; Gary Deehan and James McPake (both Hibernian), Freddy Eastwood (Southend United), Richard Keogh (Derby County), Johnson Clarke-Harris (Peterborough United) and Gael Bigirimama (£1,000,000 to Newcastle United) have all left the club. Meanwhile, the Sky Blues are boosted by the signature of Jordan Clarke, the full-back has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2014.
