A 1-1 draw at home to Crawley Town on 4 October prevented the Blades from equalling an unwanted record of seven straight defeats, but since then was eliminated from the Football League Trophy in the second round last Tuesday at home to Hartlepool United with many of the home faithful 'booing' in disagreement of both the performance and the result and many fans and media believe that a negative result this Sunday at Sixfields will demise the dismissal of Mr Weir with Nigel Clough already a suggested number one target.

Blades boss David Weir is likely to be without midfielders Florent Cuvelier (knock) and Callum McFadzean (ankle) through injury- however he may see the return of striker Shaun Miller (cruciate ligament injury). George Long (England U21), Marlon King (Jamaica) and Sean McGinty (Republic of Ireland U21) are all on International duty and will not feature at Sixfields this Sunday. Mark Howard is likely to retain his place in goal.

United are likely to field Captain Michael Doyle to face his former club. He was part of the Sky Blues team for ten and a half years from July 2003 to January 2011. He made his City debut in a League Cup win (2-0) over Peterborough United having made the switch from Scottish club Celtic a few months previous and scored his first goal three games later against Port Vale. In total he made 286 (+11) appearances for the Sky Blues and scored

Despite being handed a ten point deduction for going into administration and virtual liquidation Coventry City haven't let their financial instability phase them and following a 1-0 victory at Stevenage last week via a Leon Clarke goal they are 20th in the table with seven points, without the deduction they would be toying with the play-offs.

Blues boss Steven Pressley is likely to be without Captain Carl Baker (calf) and defender Cyrus Christie (ankle) through injury and are unlikely to be fit to face the Blades.

Blades-Mad Prediction: Coventry City 0 Sheffield United 0
