Doncaster Rovers vs. Sheffield United

Sheffield United will be looking to continue their good run of results in friendly fixtures when they travel to Doncaster Rovers tonight.

They prestigiously drew 1-1 with Italian giants Internazionale on Tuesday night. Striker David McGoldrick celebrating signing a one-year deal with a goal on his (unofficial) debut. The former Ipswich forward had impressed whilst on trial in recent friendlies at Bradford City (3-2) and Mansfield Town (0-0).

Tonight’s fixture will be significantly important for Sheffield United as it will be their final match before the new 2018/19 season kicks-off next weekend at home to Swansea City.

Doncaster have completed little transfer business ahead of their forthcoming League One season. They allowed Craig Alcock to leave the Keepmoat Stadium and have made only two permanent signings; Tom Anderson (Burnley) and Ali Crawford (Hamilton) – both on a free transfer. They have also taken Leeds United Mallik Wilks on loan.

Rovers are likely to field former Blades Andy Butler and Ben Whiteman.
