It will be the first time this match official has taken charge of a professional game involving Sheffield United since he stepped up to the mark during the 2006/07 season.
During which time he has mostly taken charge of games in the lower two league of the Football League pyramid but was in Championship action last Saturday as Barnsley went 1-0 down at Portsmouth on the South Coast.
So far this season he has issued 88 cautions and three red cards in the 24 games he has taken charge – Angelo Balanta and Sean O’Hanlon (both MK Dons) and villain Mauricio Taricco (Brighton & Hove Albion) were all handed a early bath by Mr. East this season.
