carl asaba celebrates scoring infront of the kop against barnsley in april 2001.The preparations have been made ahead of this weekend’s Yorkshire Derby with Barnsley at Bramall Lane and all fans alike know that this is a must win game for United – or as former Rotherham manager Ronnie Moore might say ‘Oh..., It’s a massive, massive game for us...’ Any less than three points would spell in relegation to npower League One.

Though, United must also rely on neither Crystal Palace nor Doncaster Rovers picking up a point or more against their opponents. Whilst our opponents Barnsley are safe from the trap door they will be eager to throw the soil over the Blades relegation coffin.

The visitors are expecting to bring their 3,000 allocation; that’s around a third of the clubs typical Oakwell attendance every other week whilst I would expect an overall attendance of 28,500+ at the Lane this Saturday. So all Blades fans attending sing out loud – sing out proud and show your colours!

Ahead of the game Reds manager Mark Robins told barnsleyfc.co.uk; "We are okay - Marlon's (Harewood) not okay. We're just going to monitor that over the next twenty-four hours. He's gone back to Blackpool for assessment. If he's not fit tomorrow we can count him out.

"We played pretty well until the Doncaster game. We didn't pass it well enough. Doncaster were the better side - we didn't pass it, they didn't either. We gave them the two goals. On Saturday we lost 1-0 and created enough chances to win a lot of games.

"I think Mick's (Micky Adams) changed some of his personnel. He's got Harry Maguire in the side, Jordan Slew, he's given a chance to. Slew's scored a few goals since he's come in, his confidence will be high. It's going to be an atmosphere that's boisterous.

"We've got to move the ball and try and play our football. The pressure is not on us but we need to get three points to take us to fifty-five points. We're looking to beat what we did last season."

WERE NOT GOING UP!,
WERE NOT GOING DOWN!
WERE SHEFF UNITED,
AND WERE STAYING UP!
