The Clarets beat the Berkshire club 3-0 on aggregate to book a place in this seasons Championship show case final. They were drawn at home in the first leg of the play-offs having finished 5th in the Championship table.

It was a hard thought match which was destined to end goal less until six minutes from time when a moment of madness from Royals centre-half Andre Bikey after he pulled back Steven Thompson in the box; Graham Alexander stepped up to hammer home the penalty.

And, four minutes into injury time Bikey lost the plot when he stamped on Clarets forward Robbie Blake and was shown a straight red card by referee Martin Atkinson.

At the Madejski Stadium the visitors romped home 2-0 winners with goals from Martin Paterson (51 minutes) and Steven Thompson (58) to seal a place in Wembley history - the Turf Moor club have never played in the Premier League and hope to change all this in there first outing at the new Wembley Stadium.
