The two clubs met each other at the beginning of the season; for United it was there first Championship tie to be played at Bramall Lane for the new 2008/09 season. Tensions were high, with Rangers pre-season bookies favourites for promotion; nether the less a fine display by the Blades saw them go away with a 3-0 win, and a perfect hat-trick for Billy Sharp.

The Loftus Road club will await the fitness on Lee Cook before making any decision as to whether include him in any first team activities; the former Fulham midfielder has missed there previous two fixtures against Norwich City and Barnsley with a knee problem.

Rangers boss Paulo Sousa is likely to field former Sheffield United midfielder Mikele Leigertwood against his former club; he was signed by Neil Warnock from Crystal Palace in a £600,000 transfer in July 2006 but his lack of Premiership experience troubled his ability and was eventually sold in August 2007 for £900,000 to QPR. he left the club having made 19 (+4) appearances.

Sheffield United come into this fixture on back of twelve league fixture unbeaten away from home, which is a club record. They won 2-1 at Coventry City last Wednesday night and hope to continue their fine form away from Bramall Lane in London.

However they will be without striker Billy Sharp (groin) who looks set to miss the remainder of the season through injury, Danny Webber or Arturo Lupoli could take his place.

Blades boss Kevin Blackwell could place keeper Ian Bennett on the substitutes bench; the Worksop born shot stopper started his career at Loftus Road playing in the junior and reserve sides between 1988 to 1989 but never broke into the first team and moved to the North of England in the shape of Newcastle United on a free transfer.

During his career Benno has also featured for; Peterborough United, Birmingham City, Coventry City (loan) and Leeds United. However it was during his days at St. Andrews where he made the majority of his 385 Football League appearances to date.
