The Blades drew 1-1 at the KC Stadium last Saturday with Hull City stealing a point from the penalty spot with former player Dean Windass (54) Cooley slotting home; cancelling out Jonathan Stead's (35) first half goal.

Sheffield United are likely to see a first team squad wheeled out against Premiership Arsenal who are currently top of the tree in the Worlds Greatest League.

The Blades however may once again be without keeper Paddy Kenny (leg) who is currently recovering from a leg injury whilst Rob Hulse is also sidelined with a similar injury.

On loan defenders Gary Cahill (Aston Villa) and Phil Bardsley (Manchester United) will not be available to feature against the Gunners as they each have featured in a previous round of the League Cup for their respective clubs.

Cahill was part of the Villains team which beat Wycombe Wanderers 5-0 at Adams Park in round two whilst in the following round Barnsley played the full 90 minutes as the Red Devils where nailed 2-0 in their own back yard by Coventry City - Michael Misfud netting twice.

Possible Blades Line-Up: Ian Bennett, Leigh Bromby, Chris Morgan, Matthew Kilgallon, Michael Tonge, Alan Quinn, Chris Armstrong, Danny Webber, James Beattie, Jonathan Stead.

Arsenal meanwhile left Anfield last Sunday with a point which steered them back to the top of the Premier League table; Steven Gerrard (7) had given the Reds the lead but Cesc Fabregas (80) chased through to snatch a point in this exciting fixture.

Gunners boss Arsene Wenger could; like in previous round against Newcastle United (won 2-0) field a younger team which is just as skilful, if not flamboyant as there main XI.

His young side is expected to consist of Theo Walcott, Nicklas Bendtner and Denilson with Lukasz Fabianski starting in goal and former Barnsley loan shot stopper Vito Mannone on the substitutes bench.

Possible Gunners Line-Up: Manuel Almunia, Gael Clichy, William Gallas, Bacary Sagna, Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Eboue, Cesc Fabregas, Tomas Rosicky, Mathieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb, Emmanuel Adebayor.
