Match Preview: Sheffield United v Bristol City (Part Two)

Written by :: Jimmy Muir ::
Friday, 12th February 2010
Mid tabled Coca-Cola Championship outfit Bristol City travel to the Steel City this weekend to face Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

sheffield united vs. bristol city
Bristol City travel to Bramall Lane on the back of a 2-0 defeat to the hands of Watford; Heidar Helguson and Martin Taylor on the score sheet - the result put City 13th in the table and was there fifth straight league and cup fixture without a win.

During that baron spell the Robins have drawn twice against Middlesbrough (0-0) and Coventry City, whilst recorded back to back defeats to Cardiff City away (0-1) and a heavy defeat at Ashton Gate (0-6).

The last time they won was on 16 January when they recorded a 4-2 home win over Preston North End - veteran midfielder Evander Sno (formerly with Ajax) was on the score sheet. Even then it was the Reds first win in six games having not won since 8 December.

The Robins will be without highly rated striker Nicky Maynard (thigh) who is expected to be out for a further week; the former Crewe Alexandra forward sustained the injury in their clash with Coventry City a week ago.

They are also without former Barnsley and Rotherham United winger Jamal Campbell-Ryce (calf) and striker Danny Hayes (illness), whilst Jamie McAlister (calf) and Dutch midfielder Evander Sno (back) have also been added to the injury list.

Possible Robins Line-Up: Dean Gerken, Bradley Orr, Jamie McAlister, Liam Fontaine, Louis Carey, Lewin Nyatanga, Lee Johnson, Cole Skuse, David Clarkson, Alvaro Saborio, Patrick Agyemang.

Blades-Mad Prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Bristol City
