burton albion vs. sheffield united - jpt rd1 - 30.08.2011This visit to the Pirelli Stadium will be the Blades fourth game away from Bramall Lane in a row having played games at Tranmere Rovers (1-1), Everton (1-3) and last Saturday’s 1-0 victory at Yeovil Town – Chris Porter’s first half goal was enough to send the former Championship club to top of the table until both MK Dons and Charlton Athletic won their games to regain poll positions.

Blades boss Danny Wilson is expected to have an almost fully fit squad ahead of tomorrow’s game, with the expectation of Nick Montgomery (leg) who was stretchered off at Huish Park last Saturday

Possible Blades Line-Up: Steve Simonsen, Matthew Lowton, Harry Maguire, Neill Collins, Jean-Francois Lescinel, Lee Williamson, David McAllister, Michael Doyle, Stephen Quinn, Richard Cresswell, Jordan Slew.

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido will be looking to change the fortunes of the club after claiming just one victory in six outings this season in all competitions – that came nine days ago at Southend United (1-0) and were on the receiving end of a 2-1 defeat at Accrington Stanley last Saturday – however that was also there only league defeat and have accumulated 6 League Two points to date.

The Brewers may select an unchanged side from which lost in Lancashire at the weekend; however they are without Nathan Stanton (knee) and Tom Parkes (broken ankle) who are both long term injuries whilst both Paul Boertein (ex-Derby County) and Darren Moore (ex-Barnsley) are short of match fitness. The latter was an unused substitute at Stanley.

In attack they are also struggling, with injuries to forwards Greg Pearson (toe) and Adi Yussuf (hamstring) there is no cover to first choice attackers Calvin Zola and Justin Richards.

We’ve met before...

United and Burton Albion have never met competitively in any professional competition, although they have met in pre-season friendlies prior to this week’s Johnstone Paint Trophy competition.
