Preview: Sheffield United vs. Cardiff City

The two sides came face to face on the opening day of the season with both sides contempt with a 1-1 draw. It was united who took the lead when Ched Evans fired home after 24 minutes, but things turned sour for the visitors when 11 minutes later defender Matthew Lowton was shown a red card.

The Bluebirds came out in the second half and after several goal attempts broke the deadlock through Jay Bothroyd (62) but was unable to add to their attempts as the result stayed locked at 1-1.

Blades boss Micky Adams is without a number of players; Johannes Ertl (knee), Ryan France (back), Richard Wright (thigh) and Andy Taylor (leg) are all missing through injury.

The Blades will be without midfielder Lee Williamson who is serving the last of a four match ban having been sent off at Watford. He will be available again to face former club Preston North End at Deepdale this Saturday.

Expected Eleven:  Simonsen, Nosworthy, Mattock, Collins, Lowry, Riise, Quinn, Doyle, Lowton, Bogdanovic, Henderson.

For Cardiff City, this will be there second trip to South Yorkshire in as many games after seeing off Doncaster Rovers at the Keepmoat last Saturday. They had taken the lead through Chris Burke (15) before James Coppinger (78) levelled late on.

The game set to end a finale 1-1, a score line which was deserved by both teams on the field but it was the Bluebirds who had the last say; substitute Jason Koumas netting a brace in stoppage time to win the game 3-1.

City boss Dave Jones has a string of injuries to his side, yet still will bring a strong squad to S2 tomorrow night as third placed Cardiff look to steal second spot off Norwich City.

They will travel to Bramall Lane without; Michael Chopra (hamstring), Mark Hudson (knee) and keeper David Marshall (elbow) are all sidelined through injury.
