Coote officiated the quite unusal game against Exeter City at Bramall Lane last season. The fixture finished 4:4, with the Grecians taking a two nil lead, but the Blades managed to overturn that deficit and eventually the scoreline read 4:3 in the Blades' favour, but James Dunne's late goal ensured a point for the Devon side. Coote handed out one yellow card, to Exeter's Archibald-Henville.
