Swindon Town vs. Sheffield United

The Blades lifted themselves to 6th in the table following a 3-2 victory at Colchester United last Tuesday night. However they almost shot themselves in the foot when they trailed by two goals with ten minutes remaining before three goals in five impressive minutes saw United take all three points.

Sheffield United completed a dramatic late turnaround to come from two goals down and win 3-2 at Colchester. Alex Gilbey hit a post for the hosts in the fifth minute and Blades goalkeeper Mark Howard denied Freddie Sears, before the U's took the lead just after the half hour. George Moncur headed in at the second attempt after his initial effort from Gavin Massey's low cross had been saved by Howard at point-blank range.

U's goalkeeper Sam Walker denied Craig Alcock while at the other end; Neill Collins's goal-line clearance thwarted Sears. But Sears made it 2-0 with 13 minutes remaining when he slotted into an empty net, after keeper Howard had failed to hold onto the ball in the area. However, Ben Davies pulled a goal back with seven minutes remaining with a low finish, before substitute Ryan Flynn prodded in Bob Harris's pass to equalise. And the Blades' superb comeback was complete two minutes later when Harris scored from the penalty spot, after Gilbey fouled Stefan Scougall in the area.

Scottish midfielder Stefan Scougall (knee) proved the catalyst in the victory at Colchester after he shook off an injury to be included on the bench and assuming that he has no further difficulties should start at the County Ground. However Jose Baxter (hamstring) is sidelined and Forwards Jamie Murphy (dead leg) Jamal Campbell-Ryce (calf) are doubtful.

Swindon Town will be looking for maximum points today as they look to overtake the Red and White Wizards and cement a play-off place. They currently lay just a point behind United after they drew 2-2 at home to Oldham Athletic in midweek. Amari Morgan-Smith scored with a late close-range strike to earn Oldham a point in a 2-2 draw at Swindon. Oldham had taken the lead in the 23rd minute when James Dayton received a pass from Joseph Mills and lashed an unstoppable left-footed strike into the top right corner from 30 yards out.

But the visitors' advantage lasted only four minutes. Jonathan Obika hoisted Swindon level when he bundled the ball over the line following a goalmouth scramble from a corner. Swindon should have taken an early lead when Brad Smith side-footed Nathan Byrne's pull back wide from inside the area in the fifth minute. And the lively Byrne was the creator again when Swindon took the lead, threading a pass into substitute Andy Williams, who unleashed a fierce drive into the top right-hand corner in the 80th minute. But like Oldham in the first half, the lead lasted only four minutes as substitute Morgan-Smith prodded Oldham level to earn Lee Johnson's side a share of the spoils.

Town look set to host the Blades without Jack Stephens (tonsillitis) through illness. However manager Mark Cooper may rotate his squad and give Andy Williams and Jake Reeves a rare start.

Blades-Mad Prediction: Swindon Town 0 Sheffield United 2
