Our first pre-season game on British soil against Mansfield Town saw a hatful of triallists and academy products feature. Tonight's team at Paul Peschisolido's Burton will also be littered by triallists.
Kevin Blackwell confirms: "We are looking at Manchester City's Shaleum Logan for a week, Birmingham's Gregory Vignal is out of contract, and Kerrea Gilbert is with Arsenal. They have all been recommended and might possibly all be involved on the night."
Logan is 22, Vignal is 28 and Gilbert is 23. Logan's part of the Manchester City setup, but with all their millions he's unlikely to cement a place anywhere near the first team. Vignal has just been released by Birmingham City and Gilbert is an Arsenal product, but he did spend part of last season on loan at Peterborough United.
Lads from United's academy are also expected to travel with the squad to Burton-on-Trent. Youngster Jordan Chappell sealed United's victory over Hibernians in Malta last week with a neat finish in a 2:0 win.
