Crewe are currently an indifferent side in terms of general form. Although they have won three of their last five matches, there was a defeat between these and in their most recent match. They have managed to score nine goals during the last six matches, but have come at the sacrifice of clean sheets where they have only managed one, and they have also failed to score in two of their matches. Away from home their form makes miserable reading with only one win in the last six matches. Crewe struggle to score away from home having only found the net four times in the last six away games, with all of these goals coming in just two of the matches where they have managed just two clean sheets during this period. On the road they struggle to score and concede regularly meaning that a win is hard to come by for them with only managing two all season.

The Blades general form makes excellent reading with only the one loss recorded for the season happening two matches ago, which was quickly avenged with the battering of high flying Stevenage. They've managed to keep four clean sheets in their last six games, though none in the last two, but still maintain an average of keeping a clean sheet every other game for the season. Although goals have not been very forthcoming they have only failed to score in two matches all season, the last time coming in the defeat to MK Dons. At home the Blades are undefeated with three wins and three draws in recent matches, with the three wins coming in a row. Again clean sheets have been important with three gained during this period. The Blades have scored in all but one of these matches, and have scored in each of the last five matches at the Lane.
