We're sending them down (p2)

Blades midfielder Lee Williamson netted a crucial goal in the 1-1 draw in the 125th Steel City Derby, cancelling out Darren Potter's first half strike.

That draw, along with a draw for Crystal Palace kept the Owls in the bottom three and only a point behind the Eagles with just two games remaining - but if the S6 club fail to claim a single point at Cardiff City and Palace beat West Bromwich Albion on Monday night then potentially the Owls could be relegated.

Watford too has been dragged into the relegation dog fight after their 1-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers in midweek; a win would have surely guaranteed Championship football next season.

Blades-Mad takes a look at the relegation premonitions going into this weekend's fixtures and see what results effects which teams in and around the bottom three.

Peterborough United (vs. Blackpool) - 31 points

- The Posh are already relegated and will play League One football next season

Plymouth Argyle (vs. Nottingham Forest) - 41 points

- The Pilgrims are already relegated and will play League One football next season.

Sheffield Wednesday (at Cardiff City) - 46 points

- With Palace playing on Monday night a win for the Owls in South Wales would result in leapfrogging out of the drop zone; they may even overtake Watford whom are two places above them.

- A draw may also not be a 'terrible' result as long as the Eagles claim no more than a point against the Baggies. The two teams face each other on the final day of the season and would be a sort of relegation play-off final at Hillsborough.

- A defeat at City wouldn't really be enough for the Owls; they would then have to hope that Watford can be caught and that Palace fails to win at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace (vs. West Bromwich Albion) - 47 points

- A win for the home side could make a huge difference and would potentially relegate the Owls if they lost on Saturday and Watford also picked up maximum points.

- A draw wouldn't keep Paul Hart's men safe but would mean that they would go to Hillsborough on the final day of the season and only need a minimum of a point to secure Championship football for next season.

- Baggies claiming all three points in London would be disastrous for Palace; if Wednesday beat Cardiff then the Eagles would drop into the bottom three and would require a win in S6 to stay up.

Watford (vs. Reading) - 48 points

- A Hornets win over the Royals would take them beyond the suggested 50 point safety mark and would surely be exempt from relegation.

- However, this would rely on neither Owls nor Eagles picking up any points during their weekend fixtures.

- A point wouldn't be so bad either and would no doubt make them safe heading into last day fixtures - but only if the two clubs below them failed to win this weekend.

- A Reading win over the Hertfordshire club could spell disaster if either or both Owls and Eagles win. If both clubs won then the Hornets would dip into the bottom three and could face execution from the second tier.
