In late January United completed a 3-1 victory over Blackpool; youngster Jordan Slew netting a brace in extra-time to see off the Seasiders.

Academy boss John Pemberton is likely to retain the same squad which won 2-1 at Leicester City in the Quarter-Finals to set up a tie against Aston Villa.

George Long, who has featured as an unused substitute could be handed the goalkeepers jersey and Elliott Whitehouse who scored twice at the Walkers Stadium could start.

Matt Harriott, who made his first team debut against Aston Villa in the FA Cup this season is also likely to be included along an attacking line-up consisting of Jordan Slew and Joe Ironside.

Aston Villa, who was beaten 3-2 on aggregate by Chelsea in last season’s final, progressed to this season’s semi-final stage after seeing off Bristol Rovers (1-0) in the third round.

They then won 3-1 (aet) at Peterborough United and Leeds United (2-0) in fourth and fifth round before completing a safe passage into the semis with a 3-1 home victory against Middlesbrough.

In the other two legged semi-final; holders Chelsea will face nine times winners Manchester United – the Blues beat Watford (2-1) whilst the Red Devils won 3-2 at Liverpool in the Quarter-Finals.
