Chelsea found their trip to Bramall Lane difficult with keeper Alan Kelly in top form; keeping out any of the Blues advances - he twice kept out efforts from David Hopkin and on the one time the Irish stopper was beaten the post was at his rescue. Mark Stein didn't have much luck either against the great keeper from United.
The only goal of the FA Carling Premier League fixture came after half an hour of play when Kevin Gage's cross was met by the head of Willie Falconer which found the net via a deflection off Steve Clarke.
