A great leap and flick on the head by James Beattie sent Billy Sharp into the box on 12 minutes and he got hauled down by Patrick Kisnorbo and won a penalty. Kisnorbo got sent off for the foul as James Beattie stepped up to the spot for the 6th time this season. His shot was saved by Henderson down low to his left but the ball was parried into the sliding Beattie who scored his 1st of the day.

Straight away the Blades doubled their lead on 14 minutes as James Beattie's free-kick from 25 yards out was parried into the net by the Leicester goalkeeper. The wet and slidy surface meant that Henderson couldn't do anything about it.

Ahhhhho Ahhhhho Beattie was ringing round the ground from the Blades faithful meant that Beatties confidence rised. He scored his 3rd of the day after Micheal Tonge's corner was headed in by the 19 goal man.

After a sunny opening the weather turned nasty but the Blades scoreline didn't. The Blades held on until half time for the 3 goal lead. In the 2nd half you could see that Ian Holloway had a shouting at the Leicester players as they came out looking more entusiatic.

Shots from James Beattie and Billy Sharp troubled the Foxes defence but the efforts were narrowly missed. James Beattie got substituted on 67 minutes for fellow frontman Jon Stead as it was a tactical change to save him for the derby with Sheffield Wednesday. A standing ovation from the Lane faithful sent Beattie a goal off top spot on the goalscorers list.

Keith Gillespie and reserve regular Nicky Law made appearences late on in the 2nd half. Despite the 3 goal win the Blades do not move up any places but do move 5 points off the Premiership gateway.
