Blades defeated at the Walkers

Sheffield United entered Saturday night's live televised clash with four wins under their belt out of their last seven outings. First-half goals from Morrison and Fryatt gave Leicester a 2:0 lead at the interval, the latter goal being from the spot. Henri Camara replaced Andy Taylor at half-time, and a good job too as the striker scored immediately after the game got back underway. Despite his, and his team-mates' best efforts to snatch an equaliser, Leicester's dominance in the first-half proved to be decisive.

A stern Leicester side gave the Blades a lesson in the first-period when they begun the game brightly. Mark Bunn was called into action on numerous occasions, arguably, most notably when Nick Montgomery scuffed a clearance; the Blackburn 'keeper had to rush across his goal and push the ball round the post. The shot-stopper previously pulled off a splendid piece of goalkeeping by tipping Chris Morgan's goal-bound header over the bar.

Matt Kilgallon luckily wasn't penalised for a handball, but the Foxes soon after took the initiative. Michael Morrison made the most of Mark Bunn's blunder to head in the game's opener.

Matty Fryatt doubled the deficit after Nick Montgomery clumsily stuck a leg out and felled the Leicester City talisman, who already had 10 goals this season. Wellens' corker of a volley clipped the crossbar in the dying embers of the first-half. Henri Camara, an half-time substitute, scored his second Blades goal just a minute into the second-half; his shrewd touch under the body of Chris Weale trickled over the line despite O'Neill's best efforts to prevent.

Jamie Ward had a decent chance, but Weale touched over the striker's solid effort. Chris Morgan missed a glaring chance with his head, one which the whole ground was expecting the Blades skipper to nod into the onion bag. Henri Camara's overhead volley was close, and then the Senegal international tried to flick Cresswell's header into the goal, but was unsuccessful.

United's best passage of play all involved Camara, Kevin Blackwell's half-time swap. Kyle Walker limped off the field after a heavy challenge; it's been confirmed that the defender will probably be out for a few weeks. Derek Geary, Walker's replacement, made his second appearance of the campaign, but looked a bit off the pace, but understandably so with his 18-month absence.

Next up are Preston North End, a side who had a break at the weekend because their planned home tie with Barnsley was postponed because of the treacherous conditions on the roads outside the ground.
