Carl Asaba, the equaliser
Blades striker Carl Asaba saved the day for United against a Wimbledon side that was not impressive.

Sarbs came on at half-time but was still not 100% fit even after he banged in a hat-trick against Brighton & Hove Albion, again coming off bench.

This time the goal came four minutes into injury time when Ten Heuvel pin point header was well worthy of a goal but Dons keeper Kevin Davis got a slight touch on it which stopped from going in, Asaba then hammered home from 1 yard out.

The Dons were on the verge of a win when David Connolly put them a head after 12 minutes when he latched onto Reo-Coker's cross to slide passed Kenny. Connolly, a Rep. of Ireland International was starting his third game of the season.

The visitors had gone six league games without a win but it looked as

David Connolly, scored first goal
though it could be seven as United pilled on the pressure in second half but every chance was wasted.

In the first half United looked weak as they played Peter Ndlovu up front along with Grant Smith who played his first game of the season. In the second half Neil Warnock put on Laurens Ten Heuvel and Carl Asaba up front which improved their game slightly.

Asaba was straight into the action as he saw his header skim past post after Brown crossed within 30 seconds of restart. Asaba then volleyed over from Ndlovu's cross.

United had a few more chances as Zimbabwean International Peter Ndlovu and Michael Brown both couldn't find the net.

Jermaine Darlington almost made it two - nil when he failed to head home from cross range but it was King Carl who sealed their fate in end as he hit in the killer equalizer.

Full-Time: Sheffield United 1-1 Wimbledon

Man of the Match: Carl Asaba deserves this award has he troubled the Dons defence throughout the 45 minutes he was on pitch, however so does Paddy Kenny as he made some fantastic and game saving saves, the award will go to both of them.
