United started off ok but Wolves started off the better side, however neither side had any chances.

On 8 minutes Michael Brown was booked for dissent and and George Ndah was soon booked for a challenge on McCall.

Around 10 minute mark United had a couple of corners but came to nothing. A Tonge shot also came to nothing minutes later.

On 15 minutes Wolves found themselves on the break and looked like they could get a shot in when Marc Edworthy's cross was met by hands of Paddy Kenny.

On half our mark Wolves came closest to a goal, Page brought down a Wolves player on his own half and Edworthy took the free-kick which took a good save from Kenny after George Ndah headed.

Five minutes later the home side took the lead when Nathan Blake's low cross was shot by George Ndah but it was turned into his own goal by Robert Ullathorne.

On the edge of half-time a Michael Brown shot caught out keeper Murray who thumbed but he saved Ndlovu's shot and went out for a corner. The corner was quickly cleared but Michael Tonge's super strike went straight into back of the net to make it 1-1.

Half-Time: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1 Sheffield United

Neither Wolverhampton Wanderers nor Sheffield United made any substitution changes to their teams. A minute in Rob Page was booked for brining down a Wolves player on wing.

A minute later The Blades took the lead when a World Class cross from Ndlovu was met a powerful header by Wayne Allison where the Chief notched his fourth goal of the season.

It was not long before United made it three and put Michael Tonge in contention for his hat-trick when Tonge's 18 yard shot drilled left of centre passed Matt Murray.

Michael Boulding came close to a 4-1 lead when he was found un marked on back post but a Murray save denied Boulding.

United did not have any more chances but Wolves had one but Shaun Newton shot well wide. 20 minutes gone and Kevin Cooper came on for George Ndah for home side.

Wolves had one or two chances but Copper had best ten minutes who only just missed as is volley flashed past goal post. Moments later Shaun Newton came off for Dean Sturridge and United took off Michael Boulding and put on Nick Montgomery.

Wolves where getting very desperate for a goal and while United where defending and pushing ball up front Wolves where shooting over goal. Wolves then made their last charge, ex Manchester United midfielder Paul Ince coming on for Ingimarsson.

Wanderers nearly second when a free-kick was won by Ince but was headed just wide by ex blade Nathan Blake. Late on Ince lost ball to Peter Ndlovu but Matthew Murray neatly saved the Zimbabwean's low shot.

To pass off time Neil Warnock brought Grant Smith on for Michael Tonge. Wolves tried hard to force a second but couldn't and lost 3-1 to the red and white wizards.

Full-Time: Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-3 Sheffield United

Man of the Match: Stuart McCall had a brilliant game throughout the game but Michael Tonge scored two valuable goals to win the game for the Blades and send us up to 4th or 5th.
